Shadow-1 was founded by Mark Andrew Elvidge, for the purpose of taking a credible approach to the investigation of many topics usually categorized under the general heading of the paranormal. Mark is also the founder and owner of the very popular Mysterial portal.

Marks interest in the exploration of the unexplained by the use of technology (custom built, electronic detectors / loggers), spans back some 30 years, with his first E.V.P (Electronic Voice Phenomena - voices from the dead?) receiver. Mark finds himself in good company, as other early pioneers in this field, includes the likes of Edison and Marconi.

Marks varied working experience has prepared him well - as some of his many abilities have included proficiency in Telecommunications; Radio Communications; CCTV, fire and intruder alarm consultancy, design, manufacture and installation.

The Shadow-1 team use a variety of electronic devices for detection and recording of any suspect unexplained phenomena. Furthermore, their strengths lie in the ability to simultaneously use a number of different detection, recording and logging devices - so as to determine 'trends' in the event of any typical phenomena.
