EQUIPMENT
We utilize an extensive
portfolio of equipment for our investigative work. Sometimes, some of
the procedures or technology involved is unique to various situations.
In addition to trying to
quantify unexplained phenomena, or more often, eliminate explainable
phenomena - we also aim to ascertain the effectiveness of some of the
more commonly used devices by other investigators.
Here is a summary
inventory of some of the equipment we use as part of our investigative
process..
EMF Detectors -
various handheld Electro Magnetic Field measuring devices. Note:
actually, these devices will measure most transitional 'fixed'
magnetic fields - even at low frequencies (2+ Hertz) if powerful
enough - try moving a magnet near one. However, most used by
investigators seem to be optimally effective around 50+ Hz.
Depending upon their use - these detectors will respond differently
when moved/scanned around an area - and would often benefit from
being monitored from a fixed location, unless trying to locate an EM
source - such as 50/60Hz (CPS) live mains cables.
- Nada RF (non-ionizing
radiation) detection equipment, wide ranging RF / EMF (300Mhz -
26Ghz) measuring
equipment and location.

- Handheld RF frequency
counter / detector and wide spectrum RF receivers.
- Electrostatic locators
and detection equipment - often associated with 'natural electric
fields', 'spatial charges', 'negative and positive charged ions' and
electro-static field measurement.

- Oscilloscopes - for
waveform observation and analysis. Also PC based analysis.
- Bench type frequency
counter.
- Subsonic, sub-acoustic,
(non-RF) rapid air-pressure change/movement detection.
- Various temperature
measuring devices - including the obligatory handheld laser targeted
device used with fixed distance 'white' target reference points.
- Active infrared beam
barrier detectors / alarms - often used to secure the integrity of
an area from straying people and/or animals.
- Passive Infra-Red
detectors - often, but not always used to secure the integ
rity of an
area from straying people and animals. Many people don't appreciate
that a PIR (containing a dual or quad pyroelectric element), works
by detecting a change in back-ground infrared energy, specifically
across the peak/magnified fields through a fresnel lens - 'movement
of a change in temperature' if you like - usually within a preset
time window, and often adjustable for a pulse-count to eliminate
false detection/alarm. Many PIR's can be susceptible to RF peaks and
thus false triggering - such as generated from a mobile phone or
two-way radio within the near vicinity.
- Combined remote PIR
detector, transmitter, and matched receiver.

- Image intensifier -
'starlight' night-vision. Ideal for nighttime cryptozoology
activities.
- Handheld parabolic acoustic
locator / microphone / amplifier - for directional sound amplification and
recording.
- A variety of digital
and tape audio recorders, with a selection of microphones -
including directional, and boundary. Including some ancillary
detectors for EVP experimentation and recording.

- Miscellaneous portable
test meters.
- A variety of digital
and tape video / audio recorders - including miniature covert
devices. Apart from detection of unexplained phenomena - covert
devices are good for the elimination of 'sneak interference' - or
fake, man-made activity.
- Ultrasonic (wide band)
heterodyne monitor. Apart form listening to bats, and the clicking
of stone circles at sunrise, you can also monitor the ultrasonic
audio spectrum which usually animals such as dogs can hear.
- A variety of video,
audio and combined detectors, transmitters and matched receivers.

- Audio and Video
multi-channel mixing desks with audio and video
processing/enhancement. Video multiplexed sequencer with spot
movement 'trigger and record' function - saving time by not having
to stare at hours of 'no activity' video.
- R.O.V. - Remote
Operated Vehicle - radio controlled observation and detection droid.
Specifically useful for investigating dangerous or difficult to
access area's.

- Four track Studio
Master recorder and combined 6 channel mixing desk. Mainly used for
specific EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) experimentation.
- Multi-spectral data
detection and monitoring. Self contained detection and
data-recording. Such a device can be left to periodically monitor a
variety of things such as temperature, humidity, airflow,
air-pressure, RF, EMF, gravitational, geomagnetic, etc., over a
period of hours, days, weeks or even months.

- Binoculars with
combined digital video recording, and digital pocket camera's.
- Strike Alert -
Handheld ranging Lightning Detector.
- Volumetric air
movement detector.
- A variety of portable
'camcorders' ranging from handheld with built-in infrared
illumination and low-lux observation - through to high quali
ty 'lead
parrot' should mounted units.
- Portable handheld
digital video recorder and monitor, with wireless covert colour CCTV
camera's with infrared illumination and audio monitoring.
-
Infrared
illuminators, halogen floodlights, and a variety of infrared and
halogen. LED and Luxeon torches. Hand generator, rechargeable torches.

-
UV marker
pens, and large UV lights - multi-purpose, including forensic
observation.
-
Dedicated
video monitors and portable PC's and laptops.
-
Two-way
communications. Handheld radios, ear-pieces, covert microphones and
mobile vehicle base-station.

-
Mechanical
and digital magnetic compasses.
-
Battery
operated, portable PIR triggered light.
-
Seismic
detector, and electrically resistive/responsive strain gauges.
-
Environmental
monitoring equipment (audio, visible light, humidity, barometric
air-pressure, audio intensity (db measured at a standard 1 metre).

-
Ionization
radiation alarm, pocket and wristband Dosimeters, and a Geiger
Counter.
-
Portable
multi-gas detection and analysis units with audible alarms.
-
Safety
equipment: Hard-hats. Safety boots (with steel sole and toe
protection). A variety of gloves, eye protection. Ear defenders. Safety
blankets. NBC suits, covert and Hi Viz safety clothing. Emergency
personal attack alarms. First Aid kits. Fire extinguishers. Emergency
location strobe lights. Emergency whistles. And much more!
-
Ultrasonic,
laser targeted, measuring device. Useful for drawing up accurate
location plans, and for setting calibrated 'fixed' equipment
locations.
-
Ancillary
equipment: Notepad's, pens, trigger objects, tool kits, fixing and
securing equipment, battery test gear. A variety of soft and hard
cases, and rucksacks. And much more!
-
TR107 MKI
Tricorder.
-
Ancillary
camera equipment, including tripods, cables, spare batteries, additional
data storage, charges, halogen spot lights, flight cases, and the
like.
-
Mobile
command and monitoring vehicle (Ex MOD Land Rover 4x4) with built-in
remote observation and monitoring equipment, communications base
stations, dedicated touch-screen PC's (x2), remote console
weather / environmental
monitoring station, and equipment storage. vehicle was originally used
by the military as a radio truck (FFR - fitted for radio) and as such
has a powerful 24 volt generator, with ancillary power for charging
additional batteries, with extra oil cooling for continuous running.
All electric are full screened from emitting spurious RF whilst the
engine is running. Additionally, the system has been expanded to
accommodate 12 volt output, and 3 inverters for supplying 240 volts
AC.
